"Der Drecksche Löffel" is a building of the Eastern Modernism of the GDR. Its location is Straßburger Platz in Dresden. (In the immediate vicinity of the VW Gläserne Manufaktur and the Dynamo Dresden Stadium) Der "Drecksche Löffel" (Dresden)' -This building was created by the architect Günter Gruner. On June 16, 1961, the HO restaurant in Dresden was opened in this building. The pork goulash with potatoes cost 2.35 Marks of the GDR. The name "Der Drecksche Löffel" was an expression of the Dresden vernacular; due to unhygienic conditions and sighted cockroaches. The building is an important building of the East Modernism of the GDR; in 2021, due to financial investors, it will have to give way to the construction of new high-rise buildings from the world in Dresden.
