English: The Duchy of Oldenburg was a historical territory in the north-west of Germany. Its capital was the city of Oldenburg. A territory of the Holy Roman Empire, it survived the Napoleonic Wars, became part of the German Confederation in 1871, and a member state of the German Empire (until 1945).
