English: The Eel Pillar is a pillar in the Great Church in Stockholm's Old Town with a relief depicting an eel struggling with two lions. The relief and an accompanying inscription was made by Adam van Düren and is dated 1521. The text of the inscription is in Low German and roughly means: "The eel is a stout and strong fish.
