The Empire Building at 71 Broadway on the corner of Rector Street going through to 51-53 Trinity Place in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York City, was built in 1895-98 and was designed by Kimball & Thompson in the Classical Revival style. The 21-story building was the headquarters of U.S Steel from its founding in 1901 until 1976. It was designated a NYC landmark in 1996, and was converted into apartments in 1997.
