Category:Engelbert Kaempfer's Gojūon table
English: "Japansch ABC" from Engelbert Kaempfer's History of Japan. One of the earliest European sources documenting Japanese kana and their contemporary pronunciations, despite several flaws (such as deviating from the standard Gojūon by using Roman vowel order, and incorrectly believing there to be a third syllabary named "imatto canna" – actually alternative Hiragana). Also incorporates a chart of various seal or cursive forms for four kanji.
