Deutsch: Der Fischbrunnen befindet sich rechts vor dem neuen Münchener Rathaus und zeigt drei bronzene Metzgergesellen, die ihre Wassereimer in den Brunnen entleeren. In der Mitte des Beckens steht eine Säule, an deren Spitze ein von Otto Kallenbach geschaffener Kugelfisch thront. Am Aschermittwoch findet hier jährlich seit 1426 das traditionelle Geldbeutelwaschen statt. Die Legende sagt, wer an diesem Tag seinen Geldbeutel im Fischbrunnen wäscht, muss sich für den Rest des Jahres keinerlei Gedanken bezüglich seiner Finanzen mehr machen.

English: The Fish Fountain is located to the right of the new Munich Town Hall. It shows three bronze butcher's emptying their water buckets into the wells. In the middle of the basin there is a pillar with a puffer fish, by Otto Kallenbach on top. On Ash Wednesday, traditional purse washing has taken place here since 1426. Legend has it that if you wash your purse in the fish well that day, you will not have to worry about your finances for the rest of the year.
