- Henry Grey, 1st Duke of Kent', 1st Marquess of Kent, 1st Marquess Grey, 12th Earl of Kent, 1st Earl of Harold and 1st Viscount Goderich (1671-1740) of Wrest, was the son of Anthony Grey, 11th Earl of Kent. The descendants (via a female line), seated at Wrest, of Henry Grey, 1st Duke of Kent (by his first wife) eventually relinquished use of the difference of three torteaux in chief and reverted to the undifferenced arms of Grey (of Grays Thurrock, Essex), the senior line founded by w:Henry de Grey (1155-1219): Barry of six argent and azure (as quartered by Robinson of Wrest). Those of his descendants, also via a female line, from his second marriage, namely the Egerton family, retained the torteaux difference
