Category:Ground poles (show jumping)
English: Ground poles can be used in training-level showjumping to visually aid both the rider and the horse to manage the approach and the take-off. A ground pole at the bottom of the obstacle helps the horse to visualise the obstacle, and a pole set farther before the obstacle helps the rider to choose a suitable length of stride. Ideally, the last canter pattern before the jump itself should fall entirely between these two ground poles.
