English: This hotel was the residence of Jehan Pelletier, Baron Beaucresson. Bourgeois parvenu, he became Provost, Judge of Forez, President of the Court of Auditors of Bourbonnais, in the 16th century. His success is undoubtedly due to the motto inscribed on the pediment of the door: Be wise as serpents. Be rights as doves.
