Category:Henry Schulkamp Building

Built in 1889 and expanded in 1896, this Italianate-style flatiron building at 346 State Street in Madison, Wisconsin, was constructed for Henry Schulkamp. The building features a partially painted buff brick exterior, replacement one-over-one windows, decorative stone headers and stone sills, a bracketed cornice with panels, brick corbeling and pilasters, a low-slope roof enclosed by a parapet, first floor retail spaces with an arched opening at the chamfered corner of the building facing the street corner, and replacement storefront windows on the first floor.

The building is one of many commercial and mixed-use buildings that contribute to the vibrant State Street corridor that runs between the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus and Capitol Square.
