English: Herzl Congregation Synagogue, later Odessa Brown Neighborhood Health Center, 172 20th Avenue, Seattle, Washington, USA. Designed by the Beezer Brothers and built 1924–1925, sold to the city in 1970 for use as a clinic (which has since moved out). As of 2023, the building houses the Seattle Classical Christian School and a tuition-free private school called First Place Scholars.
The associated congregation was Orthodox at the time the synagogue was built, but became Seattle's first Conservative congregation in 1929. The transition to a clinic occurred against the background of many Jews leaving central Seattle for Mercer Island, the neighborhood becoming increasingly African American, and the Civil Rights movement and Model Cities program.
