The Hielanman's Umbrella is the popular term for a glass-sided bridge carrying platforms and tracks of Glasgow Central railway station over Argyle Street. The name derives from the prominent location being a common meeting place for the many migrants to the city from the Scottish Highlands in the 19th century. There are busy road junctions on either side of the bridge, while the tracks lead on to the Caledonian Bridge over the River Clyde.
