Category:Horace Mann School (Seattle)

English: Built in 1902 as the Walla Walla School, the Seattle public school at 2410 E Cherry was renamed the Horace Mann School in 1921. It closed as an elementary school in 1968, served briefly as a music annex for nearby Garfield High School, and in 1970 became home to an alternative high school, originally the Extended Services Program (ESP), which in 1975 became the shortlived GAP (the Garfield Alternative Program), which was also joined in the building by another alternative high school called Nova (which moved in from the downtown YMCA). Summit K-12 was at Mann from fall 1977 through spring 1979, when it moved to Colman.
