Much of the town is built on the plain below a hill, that is called Masa Dağı (Table Mountain). It is not really a mountain, but climbing the streets on its side is heavy going. The streets curve to all sides along low, mainly white-washed houses. It is quite different from the town below. At least one person spoke of Mount Hisar or Asar, rather than Masa Dağı. But Google Maps uses Masa Dağı, and has two Asar Dağı, both at some 40 kilometers away.
