English: An Ido chawan, or Ido ware, is a type of simple ceramic rice bowl originally from Korea, used as a daily item. It was imported and became highly appreciated in Japan for its rustic appearance and was used for tea starting in the 16th century. The appearance was later copied in Japan, where it became a type of Hagi ware.
