Deutsch: 1921 übernahm die Stadt Kiel den Werftpark (später der Volkspark) und ließ das Erholungshaus der Kaiserlichen Werft im einfacher Form als Jugendheim umbauen. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg zerstört wurde das Jugendheim als Haus der Jugend (später das Theater im Werftpark) wieder aufgebaut.

English: In 1921, the city of Kiel took over the Werftpark (later the Volkspark) and had the Recreation House of the Imperial Shipyard converted in a simple form as a youth home. Destroyed in the Second World War, the youth home was rebuilt as a House of Youth (later the Theater in Werftpark).
