English: The MV Kavaratti is an all-weather passenger ship built for the Lakshadweep administration by Hindustan Shipyard, Visakhapatnam. It made its maiden voyage to the islands in the first week of August 2008. The INR 173 crore ship, the largest passenger vessel ever built in India, is 120 metres (390 ft) long and has a speed of 17 knots (31 km/h; 20 mph).
|Information about the vessel may be found at IMO 9238260.|
A ship can change name and flag state through time, but the IMO number remains the same through the hull's entire lifetime. As a result, it can be useful to identify a ship by using the IMO number.
