English: The brothers Charles Toussaint (1720-1790) and Pierre-Etienne Toussaint (1726-1805) of Huguenot descent founded a company, Les Frères Toussaint in Hanau, Germany circa 1752 arriving from Berlin. The company became a prominent manufacturer of gold boxes bearing the maker’s mark — LFT. Until 1960s, some of them were erroneously attributed to be of Swiss production coming from Geneva.
