English: R197 DDX is a 1997 Optare Excel single-decker. New to Ipswich Buses as their no. 188 (seen in service in this image), after withdrawal from service it was converted for use as Learning Bus L1, part of the TfL Safety & Citizenship education programme, similar to L2 (X667 LLX). It has since been repainted for use as the Year of the Bus mobile exhibition, telling the history of London buses.
