The Red-backed fairywren, (Malurus melanocephalus), is common in the dense riparian vegetation along the waterways of 7th Brigade Park, Chermside, and in the park's remnant open forest that retains a well developed under-storey. It is commonly observed in small family parties, often mixed with Superb fairywrens and Variegated fairywrens.
