Category:Messicolous plants
Messicolous plants, sometimes called "harvest flora", are plant species whose life cycle - especially germination and flowering - are adapted to the harvest cycle, in particular of cereal grains. The term "messicolous" literally means "living with the harvester".
Perhaps the most familiar examples are the blue cornflower and the red corn poppy. Some other species, such as the corncockles, have become rare nowadays, as their seed are removed from the grain.
