English: The Mexican Cultural Institute is located at 2829 16th Street NW in Washington, D.C. It was built as a residence for Franklin MacVeagh and his wife, Emily, in 1911 and designed by architect Nathan C. Wyeth. After her death, the building was sold and it became the Embassy of Mexico for 69 years. After a new embassy was built, the one on 16th Street NW became the Mexican Cultural Institute. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and District of Columbia Inventory of Historic Sites. It is also a contributing property to the Meridian Hill Historic District.
