Category:Mosaics from the baptistery of Valence
Mosaics from an Early Christian baptistery located beneath the mediaeval church of Saint-Étienne, immediately south of the cathedral of Saint-Apollinaire in Valence. The remains of the baptistery, no longer visible today, were discovered in 1866, and then excavated again in 1952-1954, when the mosaics were removed to the Musée de Valence. See A. Blanc, "Le baptistère de Valence (Drôme)", Gallia 15 (1957) pp. 87-116.
