English: Nīti (Pali; meaning "rules" or "laws") is a genre of proverbial stanzas found in the literature of India, as well as the literature of some Asian countries. Its sub-genres include dhammanīti ("laws of dharma"), lokanīti ("laws of the world"), rājanīti ("royal laws"), sutavaḍḍhananīti ("laws of prosperity as have been heard"), etc.
