The Nemiya Helmet is a conical helmet from the territory of present-day Ukraine. An egg-conical shaped helmet (height – 22.5 cm, diameter – 23 cm) forged from a single piece of iron. A gilded copper band is riveted around its brow, highly decorated with an engraved design. The decoration is composed of a strip of Hercules knot pattern on a dotted background; the front plate has a similar ornament combining knotted vegetal patterns and a human mask. The nose protection is missing. Dated tentatively to the 11th-century. It was found in 1892 in Nemiya village during railway contruction works, and kept in the museum of Kamenets-Podolskiy until the First World War. Regarded as a lost artefact until it was found in the collection of the Déri Museum in Debrecen, Hungary, and published in 1968.
