The New York Floral Shop was located at Ninth and Hamilton Street for most of its existence, however, the store dates back to 1923 when it opened in the Colonial Theater building at 515 Hamilton Street.

In July 1933, the business reached an agreement with the Martin family at the southwest corner of 9th and Hamilton to lease the land formerly used by the Dresher Lumber Yard at 906-912 Hamilton Street, which also served as the greenhouse for the Martin family. The frame cottage that was built on the land in the 1860s was removed and a large, new structure for the store was constructed. The business opened in mid-December 1933 at its new location, and remained in business until 1976 when it suffered a fire. The building was bought and became part of the then Allentown Hilton, now a Holiday Inn. The flower shop later opened a small store in the hotel which operated 2000.
