A novena (French: neuvaine) is a form of devotional worship in Catholicism, over a consecutive nine-day, or nine-week period. It involves prayers to make petitions, or obtain graces, or implore favors, or thank for answered prayers. These prayers are usually made to Virgin Mary or the saints of Catholicism.
