Category:OE-XEJ (aircraft)

As of 2010, OE-XEJ is one of 16 rescue helicopters maintained by Austrian voluntary organization Christophorus, which was founded by, and still is close to and partially sponsored by, ÖAMTC [in English spelling:OEAMTC], Austria's largest automobile club, besides other sponsors (as of 2010, every member of ÖAMTC sponsors Christophorus with €0.72 per year).

Their rescue services cooperate with Red Cross and other institutions. As of 2010, OE-XEJ is based on en:Aspern air field and is meant to cover the areas of Vienna and a considerable part of surroundig en:Lower Austria state, although, for emergencies in other nearby areas, she would be active there, as would any Christophorus aircraft from other regions be directed to OE-XEJ 'primary' area, if needed.

Please note that aircraft IDs never change, whilst "Christophorus-numbers" may do, after having been serviced and stationned on another air base.[The location stands for the "name".]

On bases of and areas covered by Christophorus helicopters, see here (map, description in German).
