Daphne at the Well is the designation for a deluxe hood ornament offered for a very short time by the Packard Motor Car Company for some of its automobiles. A design patent was applied by Edward McCarten in New York City in November, 1928, and the hood ornament is a correct choice for 6th to 9th series (1929-1932) Packards. Popular nicknames of this hood ornament were Adonis, and Sliding boy.
