English: Pakhala is a rice based dish made from cooked rice with water. It is seasoned with spices like chilli, curry leaves, cumin and coriander. Pakhala and its variations "Ponto bhat" in West Bengal and Bangladesh and in Assam are a staple dish in the eastern part of South Asia.
