Panoramic Radio Corp. of New York was established in the 1930s by Marcel Wallace, the inventor of the panoramic spectrum display (spectrum analyzer, or more precisely en:Radio spectrum scope), as the vehicle for commercializing his patents. The company had always be a specialty instrument maker, and did not venture into consumer markets. It had substantial government orders during World War II, lost the market after the war, and was taken over by Singer Corporation.
