The altarpiece of Saint Peter is the second oldest of the cathedral after that of the Virgin at the Magrana ; carved in the first quarter of the 16th century, this flamboyant Gothic altarpiece was donated by Bishop Louis Habert de Montmor and the canons to commemorate the transfer of the episcopal seat from the Romanesque cathedral of Elne to the Gothic building in Perpignan. It presents scenes from the life of Saint Peter and is installed in the northern apsidiole.
