Prinsep Street, Singapore, is named after Charles Robert Prinsep, a judge advocate of India who was sent to Singapore in 1858 by the Governor-General of India, James Broun-Ramsay, 1st Marquess of Dalhousie, to look into complaints against Sir James Brooke, the first White Rajah of Sarawak.
