The pygidium — is the posterior body part or shield of arthropods, such as insects, crustaceans and trilobites, and some other phyla, such as annelids. It contains the anus and, in females, the ovipositor. It is composed of fused body segments, sometimes with a tail, and separated from thoracic segments by an articulation.
Пигидий (пигидиум) — анатомический термин, обозначающий задний отдел брюшка большинства беспозвоночных животных, включая кольчатых червей и членистоногих: в частности, насекомых, ракообразных, паукообразных и многоножек, а также ископаемых трилобитов. Пигидий включает в себя анальное отверстие, а у самок может также включать яйцеклад.
