Italiano: Il grande mosaico in tessellato bianco e nero con Accoppiamenti di pigmei su barche, rinvenuto a Roma sul Celio nella vigna del conte Colacicchi, è stato acquistato dal Ministero della Pubblica Istruzione nel 1894 ed inviato al Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli proprio per la presenza della collezione erotica chiamata "Gabinetto Segreto" (inv. 122861). Vi sono rappresentate tre coppie di pigmei intente a copulare su altrettante barche in un ambiente nilotico (vi sono fiori di loto, un ippopotamo ed un coccodrillo). La disposizione delle barche fa ipotizzare che si tratti del quadro musivo centrale di un triclinio (sala da pranzo), trovandosi ciascun letto triclinare davanti ad una barca, mentre l'ingresso della sala doveva trovarsi in corrispondenza dell'ippopotamo.

English: The large mosaic in black and white tessellated with Pairs of pygmies on boats, found in Rome on the Celio in the vineyard of Count Colacicchi, was purchased by the Ministry of Education in 1894 and sent to the National Archaeological Museum of Naples precisely because of the presence of the erotic collection called "Secret Cabinet" (inv. 122861). There are represented three pairs of pygmies intent on copulating on as many boats in a Nilotic environment (there are lotus flowers, a hippopotamus and a crocodile). The arrangement of the boats suggests that it is the central mosaic picture of a triclinium (dining room), since each triclinium bed is in front of a boat, while the entrance to the room must have been in correspondence with the hippopotamus.
