Category:Rajim Ruins

Near the 600–700 CE Rajivalochan temple in Rajim are several archaeological sites with brick temples foundations as well as mounds that have yielded Hindu, Buddhist and Jaina reliefs, pillars and artifacts. Some of these ruins were repurposed into local temples architecture, temples built in recent centuries, possibly to cherish the local heritage or to give the temple a flair of antiquity. These ruins include early artistic interpretations of Indian mythology, artha and dharma scenes, as well as kama scenes of amorous couples. These are a source of regional cultural information during late 1st-millennium India.
