Category:Reichsjustizamt (building)
The Reichsjustizamt building on Voßstraße 4-5 in Berlin was the seat of the German imperial government's office of the same name, the highest authority of the law in the German Empire (which did not have formal ministries). In 1919, it became the seat of the Reichsjustizamt's successor, the Reichsministerium der Justiz (Reich Ministry of Justice). The Reichsministerium merged with the Preußisches Justizministerium (Prussian Ministry of Justice) in 1935 and moved to the latter department's old seat on nearby Wilhelmstraße. The old Reichsjustizamt building on Voßstraße was subsequently demolished to make way for Adolf Hitler's Neue Reichskanzlei (New Reich Chancellery).
