The River Sorn originates from the union of tributaries in the north of Islay, east of Loch Ballygrant, which provides a major flow through Ballygrant Burn, descends southeast to Bridgend, and enters Loch Indall across Tràigh Cill an Rubha, an extensive tidal beach.
