There was a seven acre parcel of land at the mouth of the [[w:Don River (Ontario)}Don River]], anchored at the west end by two banks of grain elevators, operated by Victory Soya Mills which was abandoned by the lease holders, and became a home for homeless communities. It was bounded by the Keating Channel to the south, Lakeshore Boulevard to the north, Cherry Street to the east, and the Parliament Street slip to the west.
