English: The former Saint Nicholas Royal Naval Hospital is located on Admiralty Road in the town of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. Commissioned by the Admiralty to care for the sick and wounded of the Royal Navy's North Sea Fleet in its battles with the Napoleonic French Navy, it was completed in 1811. There are four wings to the hospital that completely enclosed courtyard. The Hospital is a grade II* listed building and was designed by William Pilkington under supervision of Edward Holl, Architect to the Navy Board. In the past it has also been used by the Army as a barracks and hospital. The hospital also took in casualties from the Battle of Waterloo and the Indian Mutiny. Many of the men who died here are buried in Great Yarmouth New cemetery. It Became naval barracks in 1818 and subsequently a general hospital. It was transferred to NHS in 1958. The hospital closed 1993 and has now been coverted to apartments.
