English: Saint-Lubin street is the old main street Châteaudun. It was spared by the fire of 1723 and retains traces of the Middle Ages. The fire on June 20, 1723 will destroy 1,022 homes. Nearly 80% of the population without shelter. By decree of the State Council of 6 September 1723, the architect Jules Hardouin Alexandre Michel was appointed to the rebuilding of the city.

Français : La rue Saint-Lubin est l'ancienne artère principale de Châteaudun. Elle fut épargnée par l'incendie de 1723 et conserve des traces du Moyen-Âge. L'incendie du 20 juin 1723 détruira 1022 maisons. Près de 80% de la population se retrouve sans abri. Par arrêt du Conseil d'État du 6 septembre 1723, l'architecte Jules Michel Alexandre Hardouin est désigné pour la réédification de la ville.
