Category:Rui'an Lou

English: Rui'an Lou, a large round tulou near Jinjiang Village, Shentu Town, Zhangpu County, Fujian. (Baidu Maps apparently shows the location as Xiapu Village). It is one of the large tulou found near Fujian coast, away from the core "tulou country" (which is located some 100 km to the north, away from the coast). Unlike the tulous of the inland counties, Rui'an Lou uses long granite blocks (popular in region's architecture) for the lower parts of its walls. The building has been gutted of its wooden parts, and the roof has been removed; however, it is apparently maintained as a spectacular ruin of sorts.
