English: In Vietnamese monarchy, the ceremonies or acts, when the monarch grants the title of lord/nobility or decorate to a person, a honored historical figure or a god/goddess, are called sắc phong. There will be an edict to the lord/god, this edict is called sắc, often hand written on an extraordinary high quality paper called "giấy sắc" (litterally "sắc paper"). The sắc phong documents are written with hand-writing calligraphy styles. They are precious and valuable historical papers, protected and transferred by many generations in Vietnam
