The Sala Tripcovich in Trieste was a multifunctional venue for cultural performances located in Piazza della Libertà, adjacent to the Old Harbour and the main railway station. Opened on 15 December 1992, Sala Tripcovich was created by converting the former Municipal Bus Station (designed by Umberto Nordio and opened in 1936) and could accommodate 930 people. Its name derived from the Trieste shipowners company that had funded its construction but had gone bankrupt in 1994. In 2008, a plaque at the venue was unveiled commemorating the musician Raffaello de Banfield-Tripcovich. After closing for cultural performances and standing unoccupied for several years, Sala Tripcovich was eventually demolished in November 2022.
