Deutsch: Salmons & Sons war ein britisches Kutschenbauunternehmen ab 1820, das ab 1898 zunehmend auch Automobilkarosserien fertigte. Ab ca. 1920 wurde eine Allwetter-Limousine (mit zu öffnendem Verdeck)entwickelt, die als Tickford bezeichnet wurde. Dies wurde zunehmend als Markenname verwendet. Vgl. auch Category:Tickford Coachwork. 1955 wurde das Unternehmen von Aston Martin übernommen.

English: Salmons & Sons was a British carriage maker in Newport Pagnell on the road to Tickford which added automobile coachwork to its carriage bodies in 1898. Its Tickford All Weather body (i.e. a patented luxuriously finished mechanically operated folding top which was fully weathertight with wind-up windows —as previously fitted to expensive carriages) was very well known and when the business was sold in 1944 the new owner called his new business Tickford (see Category:Tickford Coachwork). Tickford was bought by David Brown for Lagonda and Aston Martin in 1955.
