Sang Nila Utama, also known as Sri Tri Buana, was a pseudo-legendary Prince from Palembang who, during the long decline of Srivijayan hegemony in Southeast Asia, supposedly founded the Kingdom of Singapura in 1299, establishing a classical emporium which prospered until its sudden destruction in 1402 during the emergence of Majapahit.
