English: Railway viaduct on the western approach to Scunthorpe. Originally it had 84 arches, but most of these were filled in and replaced by an embankment in 1910. As of 2017 it was believed by one research paper to be "the most heavily loaded viaduct in the UK. It carries train loads of raw materials into the Scunthorpe iron and steel works and loads of finished product out, some 20 trains per day each with about 70 axles of 25 tonnes" [1]
