English: Smoke art was explored from the 1970s by the Belgian painter Willy Bosschem.
However previous explorations using smoke in art was made by the artist Wolfgang Paalen, who began experimentation into using smoke in art, in 1937. This type of art became known as Fumage. Victor Brauner is also known to have used Fumage, and it was demonstrated in New York in 1942 by Roberto Matta, to an audience that included Jackson Pollock.
