Category:St. Martin's Parish Church (Martjanci)

English: St. Martin's Church in Martjanci is the parish church of the Parish of Martjanci. It stands on a sligthly elevated place in the middle of the village of Martjanci (Municipality of Moravske Toplice, northeastern Slovenia). The Gothic church from the 14th century was painted with frescos by Johann Aquila from Radgona. One of them is a self-portrait of the painter and belongs among the oldest painted self-portraits in Europe. The main altar was made in marble in 1925 based on plans by the architect Jože Plečnik (1872–1957).
