The Former St. James Power Station at 3 Sentosa Gateway, Singapore 098544, was constructed in 1926 as the first municipal power station. Subsequently, the station was closed for gas turbine generators to be installed, and officially reopened by the Minister for Finance, Dr. Goh Keng Swee, in 1960. In operation until the 1970s, the building was gazetted as a national monument on 11 November 2009.
